Keep-or Lock

Hello to all, a few questions, 1 there is Keep or Lock - in order to not delete a Show or Film in Sky Q- please let me know the difference

as My saved ones are in Keep is it possible to move them to Lock or Vice Versa, please explain the benefits or any negtives if any on both.

2 😐Also on my Sky Q Control at the bottom there are Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue Buttons, what do they do, thanks.

The same but Lock adds a PIN to make it more difficult to turn off.

Opens interactive services when you see the option. Press red to open interactive or green to set a recording for an upcoming show.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Toymaker215

Perhaps remember that ultimately the storage capacity of a Q box is finite.

The coloured buttons were put there over a decade ago by the system designers for potential future purposes which haven't necessarily ever arrived.

hi @Toymaker215

As @PandJ2020  says the Lock activates a PIN so that you don't accidentally delete it - or even just to start watching again

They do work independently - the few programmes i really want to keep I tend to activate both Keep & Lock

I would advise against using these with more than a hand ful of programmes as they will prevent the system doing it's normal housekeeping. I suggest you do not get tempted to mark recordings out of habit.

Unfortunately SKY Q is not like SKY +/HD  generally the coloured buttons are of very little use on SKY Q & I have always felt a missed opportunity by the developers- again as @PandJ2020 mentions the Main use if the Red button to access alternate feeds (these days mostly launch the SKY Sports app)  & Green button under certain limited conditions
