What is wrong with my Sky Q box and the internet? When the weather is poor, my box loses internet very easily and then I can't watch anything!
I have a very solid and reliable mesh network throughout my property and everything else connected to the wifi is fine, except the Sky Q box keeps losing connection. It doesn't make sense that I can watch any of the apps loaded onto the actual TV which is on exactly the same network as the Sky Q box?
Very unreliable and quite frustrating! Why am I paying for Sky Q when it is so unreliable?
Is this a common issue and is there anything that can fix it??
Thanks

Hi @AndersonP
Exactly what and how are you connecting your main Q box to?
Also do you have any mini boxes?

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I have a series of Deco M9s around the flat which provide a very stable network. I have a direct connection from one Deco right into the Sky Q box which I thought would be the best and most reliable connection. I also have a Q mini which is also directly connected to another Deco unit.
As I mentioned before, everything else in the property works perfectly but it's only the Q box that regularly struggles!

@AndersonP when you say directly do you mean they are connected by ethernet cables to the M9's

Yes, Ethernet cables.
However, I had exactly the same issues when connected via wifi some time ago. I thought Ethernet cables would provide stability.

I have recently changed from Sky Broadband to Trooli (UK) and have a Deco Mesh running that works perfectly for all devices except the SKY Q box. The Q keeps dropping the connection after a couple of days and I have to re-enter the wifi details.
It also means that any recordings fail when the connection has been dropped – which we don’t find out until we try and watch the recording.
