Is my new property sky q compatible
Moving home and the sky colleague asked whether my new property is sky q compatible. I don't know as I've not moved in yet. Does anybody know what the comparability requirements are?
And if Sky are unable to continue providing me with Sky Q when I move in, am I within my rights to cancel without penalty?

Above should say compatibility

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
How are you supposed to know this?
I guess if it's a house with a vaguely south facing wall not obstructed by trees or other buildings at a relatively shallow angle (depends on latitude, varies between 21 and 27° in the UK) then it should be.

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
Thanks for your reply
That's exactly what I said to them, how do I know. They said I should ask the current owner but the same applies, how would they know! They don't have sky.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see when I move in.

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
Yep. As for your cancellation question, maybe a switch to Stream would work but I suspect you could reasonanly plead your case for cancellation without penalty.

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
I've not heard good things about stream so hopefully I can keep sky q. The property is a semi with a south facing wall so hopefully will be fine!

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
@Ben0416 I suspect it's a tactic to get you to sign up to Sky Stream rather than Sky Q, as noted by @Chodley if you have a wall that is relatively south facing and with no large trees/buildings likely to block the signal you shpuld be good to go.
Have a look on google maps by searching the postcode of your new home, you should be able to see any other neighbouring properties that have a satellite dish installed, this should give you some indication if it's possible to have a dish yourself.

I think it's improving but yeah, I'm not keen to make the switch.

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
Thanks for that suggestion.
I just looked on street view and there are other houses with dishes on the wall facing south, fingers crossed I'll be ok to keep it!

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
Just another thought @Ben0416 , if its a houing association property some can be funny about putting up dishes but if you can see on Google SV neighbouring houses with dishes i wouldn't imagine it being an issue .

Re: Is my new property sky q compatible
Hi
I have tried to do a home move however they can't switch my broadband so I've had to cancel that. As a result, they're saying they can't switch my TV via home move until I've actually moved in, because they can't submit a home move for the tv whilst a cancellation for the broadband is pending. It's all a bit of a farce!
