Is it usual to be charged £125 for connection in apartment with. Communal dish
I have been advised that there's a charge of £125 to connect my apartment to the communal dish .I wasn't told of this charge when I ordered sky and was wondering if other people had been charged the same amount

@Anton1701 I have never heard of Sky making an initial installation charge of this type, has this very unusual request come from your development management who are demanding this charge for being connected to their communal Integrated Reception System (IRS) installation?
Godfrey.

As @Godfrey indicates, I don't think Sky would do so, but unfortunately a managing agent or company for the building can, as is typical, charge as they see fit.

Thanks all I have been in touch with Sky and you are correct , it is not them who are applying the charges. Apparently when they use a third party contractor to attend the property it is the contractor who puts on the charges and not Sky. I advised the sky agent I talked to that it would make things easier if they inform clients about this third party charge

Worth noting that use of such a contractor would be stipulated by the building owner.
