Intermittent sound loss on Mini

Ive got a sky Q main box and had one sky mini for 3 years - no issues, both in the same place.
for the last 2 weeks (ish) the sound on the mini drops (all channels and recordings) this occures approx every 15-20 mins, the no sound last either 10secs to 2 mins.
ive noticed its like someone has pressed mute, if i mess with volume control up/down then this will bring to sound back - ive chnaged batteries in control, no chnage.
is it worth rebooting the main Q box with the hidden reset- as i cant understand how this can solve the issue with the mini

thanks all 👍

hi @Robert521

I do not know what your problem is but it actually sounds more like a TV problem if the volume up /down restores volume.

Please may I suggest a full power down restart of your TV (unplug or switch off at mains)

It may not cure it but probably worth a try

IBTW I don't think a reset of your main box would help - although  a power down restart of both main followed by mini shoudn't do any harm

Re: Intermittent sound loss on Mini

@nigea99  Thanks for the post

i have rebooted the mini and switched the TV off a few times since the issue started. Just to note - the picture is not effected, always good.
the sound is through a Sonos beam - again no previous issue with it, software up to date - reseated HDMI (but might buy a new cable as another option)

I think I'll go with a reboot of the whole lot (again) but I seem to think that it started with the last mini software update

any other ideas welcome 👍

hmmm - initially nothing comes to mind unfortunately but will have a think

When you say turned the TV off I presume you do mean at mains & not just standby

To help my thinking can I just double check that the Sonos is connected via (e)ARC from your TV and SKY connected directly to the TV (I have a feeling Sonos don't have a separate HDMI)

I am guessing the TV supports ARC via multiple ports then - it probably won't help but please may I ask what make/model of TV ?
