TV randomly restarts from time to time. There is no pattern to it. However, it tends to happen more often shortly after turning Sky box and TV on.
The audio stops first then the second later TV restarts.
Two things.
Just to clarify, does this only happen when your Sky Q box is on.
In what order do you turn the TV and Sky Q box on or are you using the Sky Q box to turn the TV on (via the HDMI control = on in Sky Q settings)..
Can you please let us know your Sony TV software version?
I will flag your post to Sky through our closed forum to see if they can offer any more help/insight.

Yes.

I'm using SkyQ remote to turn on both the TV and the box - I'm pretty sure it is done via SkyQ settings - it's been setup by Sky during installation. It allows me to control the volume and I can turn on and off TV all using SkyQ remote.
To turn it all on all I need to do is press Sky button.
To turn off the TV i need to hold the "power" button on SkyQ remote for few seconds
Can you please let us know your Sony TV software version?
I'm not sure if this is the correct thing under device preferences -> about it shows: Version 9 / Android security patch 5 Jan 2022 / Kernel Version 4.9.125
Thank you for looking into it!

Re: Incompatible with Sony
@DJMM1
There is a firmware update 21st sept 2022 for your TV.
Drivers and Software updates for KD-43XF7596 | Sony UK
Firmware update to v6.7210 | Sony UK
It mentions;
- Resolves an issue where the TV randomly restarts
Might be worth trying to update your TV firmware.

Re: Incompatible with Sony
@lettice Thank you. TV already has the latest firmware
Its runs software version PKG6.7210.0363EUA
Regardless, I've downloaded it to USB as per instructions on the page you have shared but the TV refuses to run it. There is a message popping out saying the software is up to date

I meant the community, not a personal SLA commitment 😉
There are a LOT of reports on the web of Sony TVs rebooting themselves. Suggestions include;
power downs for 60 seconds, holding remote power button whole you plug back in to do a soft reset
Turning off CEC
Factory reset
Removing batteries from the remote (???)
Personally 5 years sounds ripe for an upgrade, and to a Panasonic 😁
None of this Android complexity, and not data harvesting like Samsung & LG.

Re: Incompatible with Sony
A new thing for this is that the remote doesn't work until the TV switches itself off and does it's rejigging. Just now I couldn't alter the volume and the TV wasn't switching off so I had to switch off at the wall, which took forever. I want my old Sky box back!

Re: Incompatible with Sony
The Samba thing is already switched off and the CEC thing, when I google the instructions on how to check this they don't follow. So if CEC is the resolution I have no idea how to do this as the selections don't tie in with my display. I've even looked on the Sony website.

Re: Incompatible with Sony
Its more about toggling the Samba option, than just switching it off.
