ITVx is very slow to get started on both our Fire Sticks, and buggy as hell. It is, basically, junk software.

Yep, it's not Sky though it's the ITV app, but honestly dont complain to them as they'll just tell you it's your equipment or your connection.
I have three smart TVs and a 200mbps fibre connection and ITV fails every single time I go to It.

I am sure it is programmed in to make you so frustrated, you purchase the £6.00 per month version. I would be interested if it actually improves with the subscription version. Cannot see it myself as I suspect the underlying software code is at fault.

No, it's still as bad when you have a subscription which is why I never use it on my Q box.
It's passable on a Fire TV stick but still has problems like dropping back to the menu part way through programmes. It would be OK on my Apple TV 4K box if it didn't have raise black on some content that makes the picture look washed out.

ITV X is unwatchable on Sky Q. It freezes all the time. I have to reset the router in the middle of the program every time. There is a response here that says it is because Sky Q is not made for apps. I think this is likely to be true. It makes me wonder if Sky is the way forward if this is not changed.
you cannot have a tv system nowadays where apps cannot be used.

Hi @Kas647 Try rebooting your router by removing the power cable for 30 sec then reconnect to reboot, then reboot your main SKYQ box by turning the power off at the socket for 30 sec then turn back on?

I have a number of apps on my smart TV and I don't have any problem with them apart from ItvX. The buffering is so bad that I cancelled my premium subscription and don't even bother to use the app anymore because it's pointless- clearly this issue Is down to ITVX and nothing to do with The broadband connection or the TV itself. ITVX offers various solutions involving your router suggesting It's the users equipment that's at fault, when in my opinion it's their app.

Hi, it doesn't improve with the subscription because I've just cancelled mine because it's a waste of money. The buffering is horrendous. It's just not watchable

I have just added The ItvX app to my Apple box and it seems to work fine on there so clearly It just doesn't work on skyQ

Hi Debbie,
doesnt work properly on SmartTVs, i have an LG, a TSL and a Sumsung around the house and its painfull on all of them. It also never worked properly when i had skyQ.

Hi, yes that certainly seems to be the case. I tried The app on my Apple box and it works fine. You would think that ItvX would improve their software as all the other apps I have work fine on the smart TV.

I have paid itvx subscription and performance on sky q is appaulling. Navigating takes forever like 5 second delay from pressing arrow buttons tomit moving on screen. My main box is 2tb and latest model only coupke months old as replaced my origianl 10year old box afte hdd packed up. All othe apps like iplayer and nextflix, etc work fine. Itv x on tv and ipad work just fine.
