For security or safety tbe system showed 4 boxes which seemed to required numbers or letters to allow me to watch tbe footballer's story today.. As I did not have such a number or letter that would allow me to watch the programme. I missed out.... So how can I set up such a number or word that could get me access?

If you haven't set a pin then I believe it's the last 4 digits of your viewing card. You can change this to a more rememberable number in parental settings iirc. Take note tho, that even if parental settings are off, you will still have to enter a pin for some programmes if viewed before the watershed as per OFCOM requirement.

your viewing card is in a slot in the side of your Sky Q box. But as advised, you can get it from the system menu
