House move / new box

Just booked a house move and received an email today we will receive a new box ? Why when we already have Sky Q ? And the mini box for multi room

Hi @Ajelinor83 

You need to speak directly to Sky.

You should not need a new box if yours is working OK.

Obviosly with a new Q box you will lose all recordings.

Thanks I'll give them a ring, on the order page in the app is says delivery of conversion kit but in the email says new box and to send the old one back nothing about this conversion kit,

The conversion kit is normally mentioned when you are having a Sky broadband fibre installation.

All the conversion kit is, is a cat 5e ethernet cable that will go from your fibre ONT to your  Sky router.

This will replace your current telelehone to master socket cable connection in your current house.

Assume as part of your move, you are moving your Sky Q and Sky broadband and the new house has fibre.

The new box mentioned may mean a new router if you have the older Sky Q flat router, as that is not capable of a fibre connection.

Only the sr203 ( black upright) and Sky Max ( white) router can handle a Sky fibre connection.
