Sky will cover replacement for normal use failures like a dish that's rusted itself to bits or an LNB that's failed but I guess not physical damage like hitting it with a ladder. But those things are pretty rare.
£16? How much was this costing before you called?!
I would assume Receiver=Q box so they were wrong that you own that.

I pay a lot less per month. Covers Sky Q equipment etc, my iPad, my iPhone and my sons iPhone. Annual renewal is up end of October so will see what they increase it to and take it from there.

It was probably the LNB, not "receiver".
Paying 20.46.

MIne's a rolling contract now. But are you saying it stipulates that it will repair Sky's "Sky Q box" or does it say "Sky box". I'm covered for my tv and iPad, Sky stuff but not the box. They are trying to convince me to keep it as it's so expensive to call out someone for the dish.

As I noted above, while in theory not covered by a standard contract, in practice Sky fixes dish issues where there's a Q subscription at the address because without a functional dish Q stops working...

Maybr receiver = LNB. Weird terminology.
Still think 4-5 months of that fee would cover a dish callout even if you had to pay for it.

@Chodley @Dweller the current call out charge for a Sky engineer is £65 if you are charged for one

Yep, not worth the money I'm payinga for it. The TV is still under guarantee, the iPad ancient. Thanks all.

Phone to cancel this morning. Even though I said I didn't want to discuss why they insisted on explaining why I shouldn't and said there was no way SkyQ would replace the dish for free. Then they offered another reduction in the monthly cost to 11 pounds something. Which for me shows it's way overpriced anyway.
Thanks again everyone for your patience and help.

Even if they don't replace it for free you'd need a new one every 6 months to justify £11 a month 😆
