Reverting to a HD Box

I'm cancelling my SkyQ subscription so I need to return the Q box.

I still have an old HD box. Will this work as I had a new dish when my SkyQ was installed?

Only if they installed a hybrid LNB and even then, only for live broadcast free to air channels

Thanks. I've tested it and unfortunately I'm getting the "no satellite signal " message.

hi @Tonmawr2000

Without changing the LNB back to a 'Universal' LNB (or Hybrid) you won't be able to use the old box.

The newer 4K Freesat boxes can use the Wideband LNB that SKY Q uses so if you want Freesat this may be a better option (although note, it seems  they can be a little temperamnetal to get working initally with the woideband LNBs  but a discussion on here has the tips -sorry I haven't searched for it)

@Tonmawr2000

From memory, posts have suggested leaving the Freesat 4K box plugged into an internet connection overnight and it finds the satellite signal the next morning: presumably one or more software updates take place.
