Faulty mini box

Sky Q mini box has stopped functioning correctly. It is extremely slow to change channels etc , remote doesn't work most of time

Try a reboot of the main Sky Q box, then once that’s back up and running do the same with any mini boxes if applicable -
~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button

Allow 5-10 minutes before things hopefully revert back to normal.

@Lin19 Afraid you are not contacting Sky's customer services on here, this is a customer to customer forum where customers help each other.


I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

hi @Lin19 
Try a Network Reset on the mini.

Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the reset button.

 

You could also reset your mini remote.

With the mini box on with green led press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the mini box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.
