Fast forward problems
Recently upgraded to Sky Q and unless I'm missing something it seems to be a lot less convenient for someone looking to fast forward.
The first problem is that there appears to be no way to skip to a specific point in the broadcast, you have to start from the beginning and manually fast forward from there. I had the snooker on record yesterday, the match I wanted to see was three hours into the broadcast so it took me five minutes to get there. In prior Sky boxes you could manually select where in the broadcast you wanted to skip to.
The second problem is that the fast forward icon covers the bottom third of the screen, whereas prior Sky boxes just had a pause icon in the bottom corner and the rest of the screen was unimpeded. This means that I can no longer watch the snooker on fast-forward as the bottom third of the table is completely unviewable.
Is there anyway around either problem?

Re: Fast forward problems
@jrwfsl147 Your first issue is easy, use voice control & say "Fast Forward 3hrs"

Re: Fast forward problems
@jrwfsl147 Further to that, you can use the voice control to 'fine tune' your search .e.g Fast Forward 3 hrs, followed by Rewind 3 mins, or even Rewind 10 seconds.

@jrwfsl147 as @Invisiblename has dealt with the first part of you query.
The second part is just as easy when you know how. After pressing fast forward press the dismiss button the one to the left of the home button and it will remove the icon 😁

Re: Fast forward problems
hi @jrwfsl147
As the others have said voice control is your friend here - my favourite commands are:
Skip nn minutes
Go To nn minutes
Back nn minutes
You can use hours, minutes & seconds or mix e.g. Go to 1hour 15 minutes
Skip nn minutes is very handy for adverts and you get used to the length on regular used channels (Many are around the 4 minute mark)
You can also say Go To Start
Voice control in general is very useful - see

Re: Fast forward problems
Hi @jrwfsl147 Just to give you an alternative to voice commands, Press Pause, then hold down the DirectionRight key to slew over to your 3 hours point in a few seconds. Each single press of the Direction keys moves one minute forwards and backwards.

Re: Fast forward problems
After many times trying saying likes of "fast forward 30 minutes" into my Sky Remote and it not recognising what I said in my Scottish accent I gave up. Then I read somewhere that "skip" was recognised. "Skip 30 minutes" works perfectly every time.
Why oh why isn't there a button to enter a custom fast forward time?

Re: Fast forward problems
Hi @SGu3 Are you muting the sound and holding the remote about 30cm (12 inches) away?
Note Fast Forward is a transport command, if you want to move forward a set number of minutes, you should use the Skip command.
