FRANCE 24

Hi has anybody else experienced low sound output from FRANCE 24 through the Sky Q box?

Output from the mini box is normal.

Are the sound settings the same on both boxes?  Particularly normal / DD.

hi @BIGGS666

I don't know about earlier but I have just watched a few minutes & found the sound fine - in fact very slightly louder than a couple of other news channels

Re: FRANCE 24

I've just checked and the volume is way down from the Sky Q box than it is from the mini box.

Every other channel is fine, normal output.

Hi @BIGGS666   What have you set your Audio format in the settings? Normal? I cannot check it, as my TV has automatic volume, so different volume levels from different inputs will always have the same volume.

Re: FRANCE 24

Everything has been working fine for years. and now for the last couple of days the volume is reduced.

All the settings remain the same, 1 channel with reduced sound is not a settings issue.

Viewer relations would be the first port of call: viewerR@sky.uk

But it may be the feed the channel itself is providing.

As the sound is OK on the mini box & OK for others (including myself) it is not a channel issue & thus no real point in writing to Viewer relations

@BIGGS666 not sure why it would be lower volume on your main box

BTW I just tried switching to Normal from Dolby Digital and this is louder thanwhen using  DD

Fair point.  As the audio is served digitally then the Q has no 'volume' as such - the decoding device does the D-to-A conversion and amplification.

Notwithstanding some bizarre software/hardware fault on the main Q then the problem could be off the box - however, this doesn't explain a single channel issue...  I would assume the main Q box has been power cycled as this sometimes clears out bizarre behaviour.

Re: FRANCE 24

Thankyou. When I alter the output from Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital + into Normal the sounds then goes to normal output level maybe due to FRANCE 24 Output, I will have a play about with the settings on my Marantz 8012 settings.
