No satellite signal. Three hours on the phone to Sky no improvement - if anything it's made it worse as now can't watch any apps either. Three weeks for an engineer to visit. There's either been a big rise in issues or a serious reduction in engineers. £100 a month for nearly 20 years. Nice one guys. Rant over.

Not sure about the serious but there has been a reduction due to the fact that Sky are moving away from a satellite based service to streaming where they will not be required.
You have access to Sky Go in the meantime.

You can ask Sky for a credit once fixed.

Thanks for the intel. Yep, totally should have got my satellite signal outage at a more convenient time than the school hols. Guess I'll just wait until September and watch TV on my mobile phone instead. At least it's not like the Premier League is about to start or anything.

As suggested, why not get an independent in?

My eyesight isn't the best so squinting at a tiny screen on a phone or tablet not the one. Figure I'll just cancel the subscription and watch premier league on an illegal stream like everyone else or defect to another service provider. It's been a truly terrible experience. Just feel like Sky are prioritising profit over service.

To cancel all your TV subscription, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice by which time the engineer will have been!

That wasn't the suggestion, it was to contact a local independent aerial & satellite company

Yep, cutting my nose off to spite my face perhaps but I just think I'll feel happier, better off financially and crucially have a TV that works in time for the football season getting underway.
