Does Netflix on sky require broadband

Elderly friends of mine who have a basic sky package (not q) and asked if they can access Netflix without signing up for broadband. Is this possible?

Cost aside, appreciate not everyone can afford it, why would anyone not want to sign up for broadband? Can't imagine how difficult that would make modern life.

They are elderly, totally non technical and bringing additional technology in to their house is a non starter. They have barely mastered the Sky controller.

Oh Dear.

I do feel sorry for people in that position but will have to have broadband shortly when Digital Voice becoimes fully operational.

They may need someone patient enough to help them understand the switch to broadband as BT

will be turning off the copper wire network shortly (end of 2025)..

There may be an orgasnisation in their area which masy be able to assist them  - AGEUK perhaps?

Not BT as they are an ISP, it is Openreach who are the network operator (although part of the BT group, they need to be impartial in their treatment of all ISP's)
