I have had different sky team members tell me different things so I am a little confused.
I am considering getting Multiscreen on the black friday deal for the Sky Q mini box. Do I need an internet connection for it? I've been told by one person no, and another yes.
The last person I spoke to said if my Internet is down my multiscreen won't get any channels until my internet is back up. Where as another told me it has its own wifi to connect to the main box and I only need internet for the likes of downloading a TV show or using netflix.
So the question basically is, do I need internet for the Sky Q 2nd box to work? My internet can play up sometimes so I don't want to take out an 18 month contract only to have no signal when my wifi/internet is out
thanks.

See following link

Edit
If you do take Q Multiscreen @jasonT1981
Make sure it comes with a mini box

hi @jasonT1981
As per the link that @oldfella supplied, the last line about all other services applies - e.g. you can watch Satellite TV or recordings already made or downloaded - the bit in bold be the correct adviser
BTW if your internet/wifi is not SKY then the SKY minis connect to the main box via a wifi signal generated by the main box & not your home wifi - although they can be connected via ethernet instead

Thanks, went ahead and ordered multiscreen, and box is being delivered on Thursday. Managed to get a WiFi extender from my provider so hopefully that will help with drop-outs.

@jasonT1981 if yourbroadband provider is not Sky tnen your mini box does not connect to you home wifi it will connect to a mesh system generated by the Q main box . So a WIFI extender from your ISP provider will not help with dropouts to your mini box but a Sky Q booster might this would need to be placed half way between your main box and mini box if needed

Play up was maybe a poor choice of words, I meant more wifi coverage in the house could be a bit naff. But I got sorted with a WIFI extender.
