Discussion topic: Cannot use the Red Button on Sky sports + channel just get WGT8 error code.

I have sky sports, and get sky sports + free. Get an error message when i press the red button to watch other games. Updated my software in sky Q box but still not joy?

You've posted in the Sky+ board, so which do you have? 

Customers with Sky+ (with the full sports subscription) will receive the new Sky Sports+ Channel (412), but will not have access to the live streams as Sky+ is not compatible with the Sky Sports App.

Even though the SKY box doesn't support the new Sky Sports app that is showing the alternative games you can use the app on a mobile device such as iphone/ipad or Android mobile or tablet (but unfortunately not on a desktop)

Sky Q box as mentioned, sorry didn't know this was just for sky +

I've moved your thread to the Sky Q board.

 

The most up to date software is Sky Q270. If it's already on that there's no point in redoing it.


Try a reboot of the main Sky Q box, then once that’s back up and running do the same with any mini boxes if necessary-
~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button
