This happens to us. Did you ever get a response or find out why?

Re: DVD player keeps disconnecting sky mini box

Did you fix the problem? If not, try the following. There is no harm in trying.

Check your Standby mode on all your SKy boxws, if it is Eco or None change it to Active. This MIGHT solve your problem. Go to settings, then Setup, then Preferences.. On the right look at Standy Mode. If it is not set to Active then that might be your problem. If the boxes had been on different Standby modes and the aforementioned fixed the problem, you could try going back to Eco on all your boxes. If the problem returns, put all boxes on Active mode. The only problem with Active is that it is more expensive to run since it consumes more electric power.

It is also worth updating the software on all your SKY boxes. Go to settings, then select System info, on the right select Software version, then on the right of that select setup, then software download. Then put on Standby for 15 min so download can install. Do this for all your boxes.

'Eco mode' issues affect Q households between 02:30 and 05:45, and typically manifest as a drop in wireless coverage (which may be mistaken for a broadband problem)

It's not particularly productive to post that as a generic response because it's a very specific situation.

Manual software 'update' also rarely achieves anything useful other than causing a main box reboot, which can be achieved much faster through a power cycle.

Re: DVD player keeps disconnecting sky mini box

TimmybeGood, think about why this happens at the time that it does. The original problem was posted in May. There is no harm in making a suggestion IF they still haven't fixed their problem. The DVD might be making the mini box go into lower power mode when it swtches off.

Re software update, amazing how many problems can result from software versions not being uptodate/the same on all boxes. I have only been on this site for a couple of days and there are a couple of people that seem to be very negative about me trying to make a suggestion that should do no harm but which might help fix their problem. You are not one of the people BTW that I was referring to re negativity. The tone of your reply was polite and well intended methinks. I'd love to get a post back from the person with the above problem, saying one of my suggestions fixed the problem.
