Controlling the volume on my TV and attached soundbar using my Sky Q mini remote.

I have a new LG TV OLED55C44 and a new LG soundbar model USC9s.  I can do everything with the Sky remote as I can on all the TV's with soundbars in my house but on this latest TV and soundbar I cannot change the volume or mute the sound?  Any suggestions please will be welcome.

I haven't looked at the manuals etc., but assuming ARC is supported:

Pair the Sky remote to control the TV's volume.

Connect the TV to the Soundbar using HDMI/ARC.

Set the TV's sound out to HDMI ARC.

Connect the Q to an available HDMI socket.

Ensure HDMI/CEC is enabled.

In this mode, TV volume commands are passed through to the soundbar over CEC.

Thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately none of this worked.  Couldn't find and reference or link to HDMI/CEC in order to enable it.  When pressing 1 & 3 on the remote then the TV is recognised and volume test works but when checking for the soundbar volume control isn't.

The HDMI  settings you need to check for CEC control for this are on the the TV & Soundbar  so that changing volume via the TV changes the Soundbar sound

Also you may have to set the TV to use the Soundbar rather than internal speakers

The CEC control may be labelled as other things on my Panasonic it Viera Link ao look for similar link or or control settings

^ This.  I've had a look at the soundbar manual - it has eARC so no reason why it won't work.

Firstly, ensure HDMI lead between the TV and Soundbar are in the ARC sockets.

Yes, on my LG you have to change the speaker settings to HDMI ARC.  If it's connected and configured correctly then the TV volume will control the soundbar volume.

Get this working first - the Q box is irrevelant at this point.  Once working, the Q can be plugged into another HDMI socket and the remote configured to change the TV volume.
