Since I have changed from Sky to another broadband provider every time I switch on one of my mini boxes I get the message 'You can't watch TV at the moment as there is a connectivity problem'. I then have to reactivate it as it appears to be still trying to connect to Sky broadband even though the new one is there!

The mini doesn't use your broadband to connect to the main box.
It creates its own 5Ghz network on channel 36 with 80Mhz width. If your new WiFi is overlapping with this (ch 36 to 48) then they may interfere.
Also, your main box will only connect on 2.4GHz for a non-Sky ISP. Ensure your new provider router has enabled 2.4GHz, doesn't steer to 5GHz and the 5GHz is set at least channel 52.
Worth performing network resets to clear out any old connection details.
