Connectivity Challenge

So using a SkyQ and Sky Mini (with intermediate booster) with BT Fibre.  The SkyQ is connected wirlessly to the BT router (Smarthub 2).  Intermittently fight with loss of connectivityof SkyQ  to the BT router and thence to the Sky Q mini. (seems to always lose all connectivity if the SKyQ main box loses the network?)

Have tried turning off the 5 Ghx channel  and making sure I "confirm".   Some questions:   1. Can you use a wired connection to skyQ and then wirless onewards ? 2. If you turn off or change  advanced settings on SkyQ, do you need to reset booster each time (0r just power cycle it, or nothing).   Do Sky software upgrades turn on the default settings again each time they execute ? (i.e. teh 5Ghz has gotten turned back on)

I had a period of about two weeks where it worked flawlessly, but its been awful again since dropping out the connection from the sky Q to the network and seemingly turning back on the 5Ghz channel and losing the network on the primary box.   I've also tried the three settings on the 5 Ghz channel (when set on) without great sucess either.  I do have a wired connection option on the SkyQ main box, but not to the booster or mini and at the moment i have turned of the booster to see if this is just a further confusion.  FYI the wifi is rock solid throughout the house and streams fine on an Amazon Fire plugged to the same TV as the SkyQ mini seeks to drive.   I have also tried re-activating many times and had a note that the SkyQ mini couldnt get an IP address. (resetting teh booster seems to fix this hence teh question above)  Sky likes to blame the BT router (tells you to reboot it) but I suspect this is smoke.    Of course every time you re-activate the connection you seem to lose all the login and passwords for the apps on the skyQ-mini (why it doesnt share them with the main skyQ box is beyond me). Thoughts and feedback on the above questions appreciated.

Yes but you need to leave 5Ghz on in both boxes.

2. If you turn off or change advanced settings on SkyQ, do you need to reset booster each time (0r just power cycle it, or nothing).

You should not need to do anything so long as the lights are correct

It should not do, but mine has in the past, it may depend on what the update does.

Have you turned off "smart" in your smarthub. BT now makes this difficult but you can do it by.

If you log on as admin enter the password then open another browser tag and use this link http://192.168.1.254/smart_setup.htm

You can turn it on/off there.

Re: Connectivity Challenge

Thansk for the feedback.

I'll try "wired" to the Sky Q, I seem to recall trying this in the past but then finding it would revert to wireless by itself...

I assume turning of the "smart" on the BT hub requires a bit of playing to find which channel is best.
