You should be able to connect your Sound Bar (out/ARC) to the TVs HDMI ARC capable HDMI2 and connect SKY Q to the other HDMI input
You will need to set the TVs Speaker selction to Home Cinema (at least those are the settings on my Panasonic)
This method will also allow Freeview TV & any inbuilt apps to use the sound bar also

Re: Connecting TV and Soundbar with Sky Q
P.S. Being an older TV you might need to set the Sound output to bitstream if you want to listen to Dolby Digital - unfortunately I can't remeber what specific name setting you might have to look for

Or passthrough, if the tv has that setting, so the soundbar deals with the audio, not the tv.

Re: Connecting TV and Soundbar with Sky Q
That television is over a decade old: it may well not do audio pass-through at all.

Re: Connecting TV and Soundbar with Sky Q
The manual for that TV says you need to connect the sky box direct to the amp if you want 5.1 etc so I suspect it may only send stereo down the ARC connection.

Re: Connecting TV and Soundbar with Sky Q
Did that with mine, but if you turn the soundbar off Sky Q does not show in the inputs.

It won't as you are taking out the path the SkyQ box requires to input to the tv.
Unfortunately with older TV's it is a compromise...
