Hiya!
Okay, I've got an old LG TV that doesn't have HDMI arc, and it won't recognise my Tapio III sound at via Bluetooth. I've opted for an optical cable connection. My soundbar's now connected to my Sky Q box, but no sound from the soundbar. Completely stumped. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

Hi @Arugbo what model is your LG tv ? Have you tried connecting your soundbar to the optical port on your tv rather than the Sky Q box.
With the model of your tv I can check the manual and see what settings you need to change on your tv to get your soundbar playing sound.

Does your Soundbar support Dolby digital ?
If it doesn't make sure you set the audio output to Normal
Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual

@best+of+the+best Thanks for your prompt response. The TV model is the LG32LD490.AEK. I didn't connect the optical cable directly to the TV yet, but I read somewhere in my m...

@nigea99 Thanks for your response. No the Tapio III doesn't support Dolby Digital. I did change the audio output to normal, and turned the tv down, but it made no difference whatsoever. Thank you.

In which case the usually 'techie' answers:
1) do make sure that you are selecting the optical input on the SOundbar
2) Tr a complete power down (i.e. switch off at mains or unplug) of both Sound bar & SKY Q box

Hi @Arugbo managed to find this page from the manual with regards to the optical cable
Hope this helps
I have an LG tv but I don't use the HDMI/ARC port with the Sky Soundbox as it doesn't support ARC
Sky Q connected to Sky Soundbox via HDMI then the Sky Soundbox connected to tv on HDMI 1 then Optical from TV to Soundbox for external devices

Thanks so much for all your efforts. In the end, I went through the checklist of suggestions, and connected the sound box directly to the soundbox and it worked fine! I'm so happy that's resolved. Thanks again!
