Connect TV to amp as well as playing Sky Q box through amp

I have the Sky Q connected via HDMI to the amp but would also like to play the Sony TV through the amp.  Does anyone know how I could do this?

Connect the amp to the ARC / eARC socket on the TV.

it depends on the connections & options available on both your TV & Amp

Please can you tel us the make & models of both your TV & Amp

Thank you for your help.   The TV is Sony QR55A80LU and the amp is an Arcam avr450 amp.  I spoke to someone from Billy Vee, our local hifi shop, and he very kindly reprogrammed the amp for me (the hdmi was connected correctly) and now the TV plays through the amp for both Sky and Google TV (before only Sky played through the amp).
