Connect Monitor to a Sky Q

My son has a AoC gaming monitor which he uses for his Xbox uses a headset for sound as monitor has no speakers.

 

i know he could use sky go on the Xbox but...

 

We have a spare q mini, which connected up to one of the monitors hdmi's he gets a picture but no sound.

 

Grnerally is the best bet to get PC speakers or do people use soundbars?

 

is there a best option?? Any thoughts from people who have similar setup/ recommendations would be appreciated.

If the Xbox has a spare usb output that provides power, there are plenty of usb powered small soundbars (more tidy and compact than pc speakers) with a 3.5mm jack (assuming the speaker has that jack output).

 

Seen some use the Amazon Heantv brand soundbar ones for same.
