Comical call from Sky

Just had a call from Sky (number corresponds to being them according to their web site) offering a new deal on my subscription due to the fact that my subscription was just about to increase. I pointed out that this was not the case since my discounts do not expire until August of next year which is the case.

Rather than apologising for their mistake they just immediately hung up without saying another word. Really think they aught to be a bit more clued up when trying to sell something.

Pretty sure that it was a genuine (albeit wrong) call from Sky since they did know my details, apart from it seems to be what I acually pay.

Hi @mappion   More likely scammers spoofing the Sky telephone number. If they knew a lot of details then I would be on heightened alert as your account may be compromised already. Certainly change your password.

Hi @MightyQuinn

Have considered that as a possibility. Will also be checking out my account a few times over the coming week. Interestingly they did ask my for my password which I refused to give them.

They were probably referring to your telephone password and not your account password.

Best way to check is to give an incorrect telephone password and see what they say next...

If they are after your account password then it definitely was scammers.....

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
