Mum has dementia and has gone into a care home.

Sky are saying they can not cancel the contract because it's a 24 month contract!!!!!!!!

Typically that's correct: minimum contract terms for subscription television cannot be exited.

Do you have an activated Lasting Power of Attorney? This might help with negotiating.
