Can I remove sky Q myself
I am about to contact Sky to cancel my tv package. I'm trying to prepare for what might follow. Will I have to pay an engineer to remove it or do I just unplug it myself
any advice would be appreciated
thank you

Re: Can I remove sky Q myself
You can take the cables out of the back of the Q. 2 just pull out (HMDI/power) the 2 satellite connections require unscrewing before pulling out.
The dish stays.

Re: Can I remove sky Q myself
Once you have successfully cancelled - and had email confirmation you dismantle it yourself and send it back to Sky. The returns packaging is usually sent out near the end of a cancellation period, which is 31 days for TV to the address that the account is registered at.
You can reuse the box any new equipment came in. If you don’t have that you can use any packaging as long as it’s secure and you may want to put a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment that is included. The link below also explains about how to receive an email with your return labels through Royal Mail.

If you haven’t anything suitable give Sky another call. Keep your proof of posting very safe and indefinitely as Unipart, who handle the UK returns, don’t appear to be that well organised.

Sky will send you pre-paid packaging to return the Q box, remote and power cable. The dish and cabling is yours to do with as you please - Sky do not want the dish back, nor do they remove them. You can take it down yourself or pay someone to remove it for you.

Re: Can I remove sky Q myself
You can disconnect it yourself - it's quite straightforward. Just to be clear: disconnecting the box doesn't mean you've cancelled. You still have to contact Sky to give the notice required. And bear in mind the box, cables and remote will need to be returned to Sky when your service ends.

Re: Can I remove sky Q myself
As an add on @Wheelbarrow99 it might be wise to remove and keep your viewing card just in case you change your mind. Sky would send out a new box etc but would expect you to still have the card.
