Booking a sky engineer visit - 3 week wait
I have booked an engineer visit but it is 3 weeks until the next available appointment. This seems ridiculous. I want to talk to someone at sky but it's impossible to be put through to a real person. Help!

@AAVH You will have been provided the earliest date possible, calling Sky won't get you an earlier appointment so you'd be wasting your own time doing this.
Due to recent storms Sky enginers will no doubt be busy.

Re: Booking a sky engineer visit - 3 week wait
I had someone come out in 24 hrs a few weeks ago and when he came, he marked my account as "difficult access" due to the location of my sky dish.... I want to check to see if that is the reason for the delay. I don't believe I have a sky dish issue (there was signal coming to the box when I had the same no sat signal message 3 weeks ago.,
thanks for your response!

Slight misalignment of the dish wouldn't be visible to the naked eye and call-outs for this will have increased dramatically due to the recent storms. Misalignment might only affect one or two channels.

It is all channels affected and the two times the signal has stopped have not been close in timing to any storms. In fact, the first time it happened was right before the worst storm that has affected my area this year and it was fine after that.

Give Sky another call if you want to query the date with them. If the answering bot asks to send you a text link say no, and remain silent for any further questions. You'll eventually be asked if you want to speak to an adviser.
Satellite signal issues are most often a problem with the dish or cabling, hence why they want to send an engineer.

Yes, that may well be a factor, because it means Sky will typically want to assign a team with a higher level of training and equipment, and those are scarcer.
