Re: Black screen sky sports

They said they would post when they had something, so I suppose we just have to wait. Bit poor really.

Re: Black screen sky sports

Indeed poor! It shouldn't take days to indentify the issue and push and update or sort out their uplink.

Mark

I just tried all channels and no blackout yet. I wonder if they did something and not said anything. It would be good to know if they also have worked on  the intermittent static That shows up as soon as you change the channel and then disappear.

Re: Black screen sky sports

Mine keeps going black when watching any UHD HDR content whether this on Sky sports channel but also on demand content. Is this the same issue or do I need to call customer service

Re: Black screen sky sports

That's interesting.

Push a software update through the menu and reboot the box and see if it happen again.

Let the box set the right HDR.

This blacking out issue could be effcting people slightly different. I would sit tight until we hear  back form Sky.

Re: Black screen sky sports

Have tried the software update and restart but was still happening on football and F1.

if I watch in HD no issues just UHD HDR looks will be a call in the morning unless it's the TV but have tried HDMI and PlayStation 5 no issues

Re: Black screen sky sports

This is most likely a broadcasting issue and uplink glitch that Sky has to resolve.

If you can try with another tv. HDR is normally stable on Sky Q.

As of yesterday, I can confirm I didn't have any black out in any channels in HD and HDR watching F1 however, there is still static in the picture.

Re: Black screen sky sports

Jamie+Simms. I've only had a problem with live sky sports programes, so maybe you have onother issue. Sorry just don't know.

Re: Black screen sky sports

Hi Ajaja, I've not had an issue while looking through the sports channels today, so as you say maybe something has been done and they are waiting to make sure it continues to work. As you say we'll just have to sit and wait for confirmation, I suppose.

Re: Black screen sky sports

I've not been brave enough to check sports channels but I will get on today. Be nice to get confirmation from sky,  bet I'd we stopped payments the communication would be very quick.

Steviep1. My own thoughts are that rather than saying, it's all fixed, they will just let things go quiet as people will just be happy watching what they've paid for and won't bother chasing for updates.

Re: Black screen sky sports

I agree!

Honesly Sky should improve its transparency when it comes to updates and fixes. Even when they push a software we don't known what has been updated.

Trouble is its regarded as a consumer product and the vast majority of customers simply do not care or want to know.

It isn't going to change, especially as the product is coming towards its end of life.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
