After watching a recording, message says cannot delete as I am still watching

After I have watched a recorded programme and try to delete it, a message comes up on the top of the screen to say "cannot delete programme as I am still watching it"

Hi @50naturesbest 

you need to press the Dismiss button (left of Home button) on the remote at least once or twice to exit a recording before you can delete it.
