My partner accidentally cut the cable inside the house (through the roof) that goes into the back of the sky box. Can the split be rejoined?

SKY would probably replace the cable but may charge.
As @Chodley says it can be repaired with F-plugs & and F-F connector
Being an intrenal break this should be OK without extra protection - outside it would need good protection using amalgamating tape or other weatherproof housing
When preparing the connectors you need to make sure that none of the fine strands of the outer sheathing make contact with the Central core wire - if even one touches it can cause a short circuit & the box will stop providing power to the LNB on the dish
Also, you need to make sure that the outer sheathing copper does make contact with the outer barrel of the F connector - if not, then in this case the voltage won't be supplied to the LNB

Thank you both. Repaired with
F plugs and now back up and running. Phew!
