What is my Sensor Bridge for?
If you’re setting up Sky Smart Home sensors, you might be wondering what the Sensor Bridge does and why it’s important. Here’s a simple explanation of what it’s for and how to get everything connected.
What does the Sensor Bridge do?
The Sensor Bridge is a small dongle that plugs into the back of your Indoor Camera. Its job is to connect your sensors to your Sky Protect system.
One Sensor Bridge can connect multiple sensors, helping them all communicate through your Indoor Camera.
Before you start
Before installing any sensors, it’s important to make sure both your Indoor Camera and Sensor Bridge are online. Sensors won’t install unless this step is completed first.
How to connect the Indoor Camera and Sensor Bridge
To get everything ready:
- Plug the Sensor Bridge into the back of your Indoor Camera
- Wait until both devices show a solid blue light
- Once both lights are solid blue, everything is connected and ready
What the lights mean
It’s useful to know what the Sensor Bridge lights are telling you:
- Solid blue light – the Sensor Bridge is online and ready to connect to a sensor
- Yellow light – the Sensor Bridge may need a reboot
How to reboot the Sensor Bridge
If you see a yellow light, try the following:
- Remove the Sensor Bridge from the Indoor Camera
- Unplug the camera and leave it powered off for two minutes
- Plug the camera back in
- Insert the Sensor Bridge again, making sure it’s fully connected
- Wait for both the camera and bridge to show a solid blue light
Once the blue lights are back, you’re good to go.
