I've installed my doorbell, not been overly thrilled but it works to a degree. Charging notification appeared I've tried to remove this and it will not come away from the back plate. How on earth do I get this off please?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreLike most doorbells on the market, there is a small release tab at the bottom. Some have screws, but the Sky protect one is just a simple push release tab.
Just apply a little up pressure on the release tab and pull the doorbell away.

I have already tried this as per the previous posts advice. It hasn't worked. It will not release.

This has not resolved it as it will not release.

Just use the tool to push up the tab with one hand and pull away the doorbell towards you using your other hand

I understand what you are saying. I have done this. I am able to remove a doorbell I have had other versions of this and had no issue. It will not release no matter how hard the tool is pressed in. The device will not move away from the back plate.

Facing directly at the device, on the bottom of the device, Push in the the tap closest to the wall/door and it will force the opposite end of the tap (closest to you) to flick up, then gently put the tip of your finger or flathead and pry downwards ( I used tip of finger) and then when it's extended as far as it can, pull away the device away from the wall and towards you. Make sure you're holding on to the device so it doesn't go flying as soon as it gets loose. It's not the easiest of methods but it works. Be patient with it.

There is no doubt that this is really fiddly. The small tool I didn't find helpful at all. I resolved to using a small cross head screwdriver wich thanks to a longer handle gave greater ease in pushing this tab in sufficiently to allow the doorbell to pop off the mounting plate. It is one for pateince that is a fact!
