parental control

I am 67 and I cannot turn off parenal control on my mobile phone, I spoke with your colleague and was promised this will be done in 24 to 48 hours but it is now over a week and nothing is done, I still have parental control on. I tried doing it online by adding my credit card details but this was rejected

Perhaps try a different card.

Only a credit card will suffice (not a debit card). You can borrow a credit card if you haven't got one yourself, it doesn't have to be yours. The only other way is if you have signed a credit agreement with Sky, then they will already know you are 18 or over so if you call them on 150 they can deactivate this for you.
