new sim

i bought a seperate sim plan to put in my phone because is was on a half price deal my phone is on contract from sky but it keeps asking for a PAC number but i havent switched from anyone and there is no way for me to activate the sim without a PAC number

As you have found out you can't use a Pac code to move a number from one Sky sim to another Sky sim so you have a few options.

 

You could call Sky to ask them to cancel this new sim you activated and then use the one you have in your new phone.

 

You could either use the sim you have or if you want to transfer the number you have to the new sim then you would need to use a Pac code to transfer your current sim number to a PAYG network and then use another pac code you get from them to transfer it back to your new Sky sim.

i havent got a new phone from them ive had a contract with them for nearly a year and keep running out of data so in the black friday sale i got a new sim seperately from the phone and the contract but i cant activate it because its asking for a PAC number from my old provider but i havent switched from anyone

Regardless of the phone, my above point still stands. You can't use a Pac top transfer a number from one Sky sim to another but you should be able to activate it without the need to provide a pac code, is there not an option to just activate the sim only ?

no there isnt that option the only other option says a STAC code which then chages my number so ive tried that and it still says the same as the PAC number did and then says error

I would suggest calling Sky on 150 from the phone that has the other sim in it as they should be able to activate it for you..

Hi @Laura284  the new sim you ordered will have a new number, it isn't a replacement for the old one.

You will get through to a bot so try saying nothing when asked any questions as you might then might be able to get through to someone.

The only way I can get through to activate it is by using a PAC/STAC

There seems to be a bit of confusion here @Laura284  as advised call sky on 150 for help as you may end up losing your old number by accident. If you speak to someone they may be able to help you without causing problems on your account.
