iPhone payment scheme

I would like to know how the instalment scheme work. 
If I took 24 month plan do I have to pay 24 month towards my phone cost ?

or its 12 month for my phone cost and the remaining 12 month towards SIM card cost ? 
please help me with this

Data plan and device plans are separate.

 

Data plans have a minimum term of 12 months.

 

A Swap24 contract is actually 36 months.  You pay for 36 months and then own the phone.  (If you don't swap at the expected point at 24 months)

So if took 24 month plan means 12 month device plan after 12 month I don't need to pay towards to my phone only towards data scheme

No.  A 24 month device plan (Swap12) means you pay for the phone over 24 months.

 

The dataplan is on top but you can cancel that after 12 months.
