iPad 12.9. Inch Restore mode

Hello I’m on holiday right now (just landed today) and my iPad when I switched in on was in the ‘restore ‘ mode and I cannot get it to do anything else (I’ve tried what’s on the Apple website and it’s still just a blank black screw (asking me to connect it but that does nt do anything… I’m stuck being to find any solution does anyone have any other suggestions?

Is it asking you to connect to iTunes? If yes then what happens when you connect to iTunes?
Is the iPad new from Sky or is it second hand?
Did you initiate a restore?

Hi no I haven't got that far. It's was a new iPad from sky 4 years ago (still paying £25 per month!) I've pressed the two top buttons for a few seconds each then the power button for longer (then the Apple logo comes up) which should kick start the iPad / mines doesn't -it goes back to a black background and in the middle of the screen is a picture showing a tablet and asking me to connect it (I've connected nothing changes ) I've connected to my iPhone (somewhere it mentions connecting to a computer - this might want me to get to iTunes - but I only have my iPhone to connect/ but I've had no joy there either ..I'm lost as I'm abroad on holiday so can't access the usual help)

That is the only was to fix it, most likely the device needs to be reset or the OS needs reinstalling.
