Wrong email address

Hi I have signed a new contract for my son and chose an eSim. The phone arrived no problem but the activation code was sent to an old email address which is no longer in use. This is despite my changong all my details on my account about 12 months ago. I have rung Sky and erach tme get a different response. The most promising was that "I have changed your details and you will get a new eSim and the Activation code will go to your amended email address. It will take 5 hours. That was two days ago. Today I was told 'we are unable to send you an activation code to a different email address (the one on your account) as this is for your own security. (What???  Any help would be most gratefully recieved.

I guess the only way around this would be to speak to them again and ask them to cancel the order you placed and once this has been done to place the order using the correct email address.
