WiFi calls show on bill & charged

Hi

we went to Cape Verde and I have been charged for some phone calls that were through WiFi (WhatsApp/ FaceTime). Another call shows as £50 but to my own number? I have logged a case with sky but two weeks later and I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone had similar?

thanks

Using WiFi calling on your phone will come out to f your allowance as normal & if you are aboard it's will be charged all the time & my only advice is to switch mobile data off& roaming off to stop your phone being charged & only use your phone on an WiFi connection if available

Hi @Lissidoll  as mentioned WiFi calling would be charged as normal calls when abroad. FaceTime and WhatsApp calls shouldn't be charged. Did you access voicemail as that would incur charges. Did you turn roaming and data off before leaving the UK because if not then as soon as you landed your phone would connect to the local network and start using expensive data very quickly.
