Same problem for us on Christmas day too.

Tried again this morning and still the same problem.

Have tried the sim in a different iPhone (no Android to try here) and still the problem persists. Have to wait an hour between each try which is even more annoying.

Have tried on WiFi, off of Wifi, etc.

Ours is still doing the same. 

Does the app know the age of the person on the phone? I've set my son on my apple 'family' as a 10year old, but WhatsApp states from 13.

It's worked this morning, text came through straight

We had this issue it was a spend cap blocking the texts need to lift the spend cap while setting up

Hi. We brought our daughter a mobile for Christmas and it won't let her join whatsapp

we have temporarily turned off the parental controls but it says it doesn't recognise her number even though the number we have used is correct. Any ideas?

It's done it for us now.. but by calling with the code instead of the text. 

I really don't know what's changed from yesterday?

I can't connect my daughters new phone and number to what's app I've wasted most of the time trying to do it and today am locked out for six hours whats app are saying they are sending codes to the phone number and I'm not receiving any
