WhatsApp says- we couldn't call (or sms) your number. Please check your number and try again in 1 hour.

@Elliecartlidge If your trying on an iPhone then try the following to see if it works,

1. Turned Wifi off on my phone so that I was just connected to data via the cellular network

2. Turned Data Roaming on

3. Turned off iMessage

4. Re-enter your phone number and hopefully, you should get sent a verification code

Failing that the advice I've seen given by other forums is to install WhatsApp on another device(either Android or Windows) and then set up the account from there.

If you are already trying on an Android-based phone then it could well be that the short code used by WhatsApp is being blocked by Sky for some reason( i know they do seem to have issues with some short codes).

I'm having this issue as well today

cant send text (or phone call) 

it must be a Sky problem 

tried turning off iMessage and putting roaming on 

it's not having any of it
