Using a phone you are returning

Hi,

I have an iPhone 13 Pro still under contract with Sky that I've sold but not yet sent off and am paying off the rest of the device left on the contract with that money, I ordered an iPhone 16 pro which turned up today and I set it all up; I've now decided I wanted the bigger one so have called Sky and ordered the iPhone 16 pro max which has a 1-2 week back order. I'd wiped my original iPhone 13 Pro ready to send off, am I allowed to use the new iPhone 16 pro for the 1-2 weeks until I get my new max model? As the price I got for my iPhone 13 Pro is only guaranteed for 10 days so wanted to send it off as soon as possible?
Obviously I will look after it and have a (now pointless) case and screen protector for it.

Any help would be appreciated. I did try and reinstall my iCloud backup on my original 13 again but I don't think the sim will work now as it was transferred to an eSIM in the new phone

@RebaJane

I presume you have cancelled the contract on the Pro model because if you did then you have 31 days to return it from when it was delivered as per this:

Re: Using a phone you are returning

So that is saying you can send back a used item within 31 days. I just wasn't sure because I'd told them within the first day that it meant I would have to send it straight back

thank you!

it's a good job I can use it as the 13 model won't update for some reason and I can't get out of it updating ☹️

Hi @RebaJane  be aware that the return phone must be in an as new condition so if it's damaged in any way then the return could be rejected by sky. Any scratches eg could cause you problems.

Re: Using a phone you are returning

I have gone back to using the iPhone 13 which I managed to get to download my backup from the iCloud rather than the other phone as the new iPhone 16 was getting really hot and I was playing a game and after a few minutes it was just closing the app. I'm assuming it has a fault?!

Who do I email about it? As I don't want them to think it's my fault as I'm not even going to use it now.
thanks 🙏

As your iphone turned up yesterday under the cooling off rules you have 31 days to change your mind to contact Sky about returning it so if this is what you want to do then you will need to call them on 150 about this.
