Unable to send MMS messages via Sky Mobile
Hi All,
I've just confirmed with Sky technician that the MMS messaging feature is unavailable with Sky Mobile. This is very disappointing seeing as we've been lured to Sky from other providers who have this functionality.
Apart from switching back to the other providers is there a solution? The technician suggested using anything other than 'Messages', use WhatsApp etc. Not a great solution in this day & age!

That's incorrect . Sending mms messages is available on Sky mobile. Each message costs 95p to another UK mobile.
Sky customer since 2001
with: Sky Q | Sky Superfast Broadband | Sky Talk | Sky Mobile
NOTE: I only provide help on the forums and NOT via PM

Sky Mobile (UK) does support MMS.
However, you need to ensure your APN setting is configured:
Name: Sky Mobile MMS
APN: mms.mobile.sky
Username: None
Password: None
Proxy/MMS Proxy: 185.110.178.97
MMSC/MMSC URL: https://185.110.178.96:38090/was
Port/MMS Port: 9028
MCC: 234
MNC: 57
Authentication: None
MMS APN Type: mms
APN Protocol: IP
Note each MMS is chargeable at 95p each.
Not a great solution in this day & age!
MMS was introduced in 2002. Arguably it is a legacy protocol introduced to resolve some SMS limitations.
I would concur that using WhatsApp (which uses data and not cellular protocols) for example is likely a better long term solution. (Cross platform too)

Thanks for the info. I should've outlined that I'm located in Ireland, not the UK. The information I received was from the Sky tech people.

Yup, may well be different - but note my other comments...

Looking at the RoI Tariff, MMS isn't mentioned...
