Swapped from Tesco mobile just over a month ago and have only just noticed that neither my wife nor I can send SMS. We can receive SMS okay and can send & receive iMessage okay.
In Message (in settings), our ported numbers show correctly.
We have both tried, repeatedly, to edit the Phone number in Settings, but it doesn't save the ported numbers.
Please help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf this is an iphone go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. It can take a number of attempts to get the number to save correctly.

@caesarome, Thank you very much. I'd been doing that and clicking Save at the top of the screen rather than just restarting the iPhone.
As soon as I changed the number and restarted the phone without clicking Save, the number was actually saved and showing correctly after the restart.

I switched to sky mobile from EE after a couple of days i got a text saying my number was now active but I am unable to change it in the phones settings, Ive tried all these suggestions but it still keeps going back to the number that came with the sim.
Help please

same problem of old number not coming across and tried different things. What seemed to work was signing out of iMessage and Facetime for 15 minutes and then signing back in (without switching the phone off and then back on) This worked! Thank you to the superusers for all their help

Whoops no it didn't work. Back to the temporary number so guess I will have to ask for a new SIM
