Unable to change to Sky VIP offer

Hi. I am currently with Sky Mobile on a rolling sim only contract. I pay £12 a month for 12gb of data. I am also subscribed to Sky Stream.

There is a Sky VIP offer for 25gb for £10 a month that I would like to change to. However, I am unable to do so through the app.

I gave Sky a call and they told me the offer is for new customers only. The only way that I can get it is to cancel my current Sky Mobile sim, change to someone other than Sky and then come back to Sky Mobile. Apparently they can't transfer numbers from Sky sims to other Sky sims.

My question is, is there anything I can do or someone I can complain to? The whole thing seems utterly ridiculous. I am so angry I am seriously thinking of quitting Sky completely.

The offer has they have stated if you take out a new sim so can't be applied to your current one. The workaround would be to take out this offer and order a new sim then use a pac on your original sim to transfer it to a PAYG sim then get another pac to move it back to this new sim with this VIP offer on it.

But I don't think you have any basis of a complaint as the T&C's are dead clear on this.

There is a work around process as already noted.  They can apply deals to existing SIMs but are not obliged to.

Assuming you are 'out of contract' (12 months for a SIM deal) then you can give notice to leave without termination fees.

Re: Unable to change to Sky VIP offer

I am out of contract, therefore on a rolling month to month basis. The way I see it, I am purchasing a new data plan. I am willing to commit to the 12 months. I just can't see why that should involve changing sims.

Because the terms of the offer are for additional SIMs only.

As I noted, unless you can convince them to apply the offer to the SIM then you have the option of the convulted transfer or leaving if you feel strongly about it.
