Telephone number different from that being used

Hello,

we've been with Sky since 2019. We transferred four numbers across from O2-two out of three were consecutive numbers for my daughters, my number and my wife's number she has had since dinosaurs were invented.

My daughters number wasn't transferred, I don't know if it was my end or theirs. When I phoned up I was advised that the number had been handed back to O2 and we weren't able to access it.

today I have made contact to port the numbers to another provider. All of the numbers received the pac code other than my wife's.

looking at the home page I noted that the 6 year old "lost" number was showing against my wife's phone. I contacted sky and they had no record of my wife's number that she's used for 30 years on skys database. They have the other number.

obviously we have been using the number for years yet sky can't find it. We can't port it without a pac code- texting the number shows it as being unable to process.

who can help me get this sorted out? Is it ofcom or do I make a complaint to sky. Reviewing other posts for other networks there are people holding numbers centrally..... sky have said the number doesn't exist and suggest I contact O2.

anyone got an idea to help?

Re: Telephone number different from that being used

I've been on the phone most of the afternoon.

act as quIckly as you can.

I may have to contact ofcom or make an official complaint.

numbers are held by providers and there is also a central pot.

My number shows as the lost number on sky home page but my wife's number still works.

good luck with your issue.

True caller.com is a free service that tells you where your mobile number is registered.

I checked my number and it states O2 (Telefonica) still have it. They are obviously not using it so I hope they will allow me to port it to another provider.

Prior to this I have made a complaint to sky not about the people but the process to see if they can liaise or help.
