How does swap upgrade work? Does it add money to what i already owe on my bill?

Hi @JamietheHedge  when you start the swap process sky will give an estimate of what your old phone is worth (that could change once they receive it) and that goes towards paying off the old phone or device. If swapping at the 24 month normal time then the value should equal what's owed so nothing else to do. If the swap value is more than what's owed then the excess goes as credit on your account and goes towards future bills. If the swap value is less then the difference is added to your next bill which must be paid in one go.

They give swap values and change them when the packaging arrives.

I received a quote for the value of the phone, and it was more than the remaining balance on the contract. They offered me the value of the remaining balance plus credit for the future bills. As soon as the return packaging arrived,  within an hour, the value dropped significantly.  Now no credit towards the future bill.

Scam like behavour in my opinion, as they make promises which they don't keep. I would understand it if I had delayed the swap process, but the packaging only arrived with the new phone, and it was impossible to return it before that. Wouldn't recommend their swaps.
