SIM card

I have several contracts and my son wants to update his data can I cancle his contract

If you have been paying for his SIM card for 12 months or more then you can cancel it by calling Sky on 150. Once cancelled the number is lost for good.

Updating his data doesn't involve cancelling the sim. 

Do you mean your data package (known as your Mix)?

Increasing the data plan happens almost immediately.

 

Decreasing the data plan happens at the start of your next billing period.

 

To cancel the sim the account holder can cancel it if you've had it 12 months or longer.

 

You'll need to call Sky to cancel it & you will lose the number. You can't cancel it here or online. Dial 150 from your Sky mobile. If you haven't had it 12 months then early termination fees will be applied.
